Black & White Project #1

Well, since I haven't post anything yet; and in last post I was telling u readers that am going to post something about KKN life, which I haven't done it eventhough KKN is done. So, here I might post a lil KKN photographs that I am taking it into black and white picture.

Why black & white? there are many things that photography experts say about the B&W photography, most of em are talk about art and pure things. for me, yes those are, but idk suddenly loves turns so many pictures into black and white.

Just post a thing

Hello, it's already been few months I haven't post anything. so, this post is just as idk just wanna post something, but idk what to post.

Last few months, i havent post anything because I was in KKN period that I need to go to a place where actually just around West Sumatera. kind of village, named Lubuak Pasiang. actually that place still have internet connection, but it seems that i dont have much time, so I didnt write anything. the first day, I tried to write something about my first day but I canceled it. I dont remember why.

may be, I'll write some about this KKN. may be one day.

From Blue.

Rose is red, it comes with spine. It hurts.
The evil queen of snow white loves the red apple.
The queen of hearts loves red, she wears red everytime and everywhere. And she hates alice.
Both of them are villains.

And there is Alice and Snow white.
Alice is young girl with huge imagination mind, her hair is yellow on the illustration, and she wears blue dress. Snow white also wears blue dress.
See, Red is villain. They hurts.

Kebudayaan Minangkabau : Tigo Tungku Sajarangan [Poster]

Tigo Tungku Sajarangan are the three elements of leadership in Minangkabau, consisting of Pangulu, Alim Ulama, and Cadiak Pandai. These three elements of leadership are tasked to resolve the problem in accordance with their respective position. Pangulu, Alim Ulama, and Cadiak Pandai help each other to work together in improving the living standards and welfare of the community, so that people will not have trouble, and far from the norm, social, as well as existing customary.

Pangulu

Pangulu is work in terms of customs duty. In the poster attached, Pangulu wearing traditional clothes of pangulu itself by using elements Marawa colors (red, yellow, and black). Pangulu figure  introduced in the poster is a figure of Irwan Prayitno, where he is the governor (leader) of West Sumatra. Thus Mr. Irwan Prayitno accordance with Pangulu figure in Minangkabau. Selection of the yellow/orange color of watercolor in the design is to represent the spirit of urang Minangkabau in every case.

Alim Ulama

Alim Ulama duty is in terms of religious (syariat), in Minangkabau there is the term "Adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi Kitabullah" which means adat guided by religion, and religion guided by the Holy Book of Allah (Al Quran). Alim Ulama who introduced in the poster is a figure of Buya Hamka, where he was the Minangkabau Alim Ulama on 20s era in Indonesia whom famous with the culture and his quotes. Selection of green watercolor in the design intended as a representation of the calm and peaceful, where religion itself will give you peace and peace for those who adhere to the religion based on Al Quran

Cadiak Pandai

 

Cadiak Pandai duty is in terms of culture, science, regulations and legislation. In Minangkabau there is also a term for Cadiak Pandai : "Alam takambang jadi guru", which means knowledge can be obtained from anywhere, and nature has provided science for anyone who noticed, Cadiak Pandai figure that is introduced in the poster is a figure of Mohammad Hatta, where he was the first Vice President of Indonesia from Bukittinggi, together with Ir. Soekarno as the first President. In addition, he is also known as Bapak Koperasi Indonesia, according to the ingenuity and cleverness of Bung Hatta, then he is a suitable figure to represent Cadiak Pandai from Minangkabau. Selection of blue watercolor in the design intended as a representation of portray a confidence, strength and safety in a convictions, where science and the law itself will give you the strength and convictions in completion of a matter.

 

Tungku (Furnace)

The furnace in the poster is a representation of the term "tigo tungku sajarangan" which means the three elements of leadership is needed in solving a case. Pangulu, Alim ulama, and Cadiak Pandai will go hand in hand in improving the lives of Minangkabau society.

Two in a month :)

Yep, Alhamdulillah two in a month :)
What two in a month? It's because blessings I had in April. Which actually I won two competitions in a month. What a bless :) I'm not a competition-hunter or winning-hunter person, but Alhamdulillah when I got a chance, I'll do my best.

The first one is PHOTS (Photo Hunting on the Spot) in PIXEL which held by Andalas Sinematografi on April 9, 2016. As I posted few days before, I won the second place.

Then, in last week of April, I never thaught will join the competition even if I knew there's a competition coming (as I said, I'm not a hunter-kind) but then a friend called on the registration due date :) Still never thaught to join but then Idk why I still join, maybe because some of my friends also joined haha.

It was the Poster Design contest with "Minangkabau" themed. and I won the third place. Actually that time I wasn't so satisfied with the result, for some reasons, especially because I'm not going to be Andalas University's delegation for next step of competition to national competition. but I'm lucky to know friends judgement about my artwork, and one of them is a designer and a lecturer. And alsooo, because I won two in a month, makes me feel better haha.

Doesn't mean to brag, but I think I should memorized this month, to motivate me to keep good work more than ever haha. anyway, the poster design I made for Pekan Seni Mahasiswa, Andalas University; will be posted soon.
